What science ideas did you learn?
I learned how light distorts what you see from different angles. We also learned about newton and Huygens had different ideas. Newton thought that light traveled in particles, small balls that travel the speed of light, and Huygens thought that light traveled in waves. we really didn't prove witch one was right. Lastly we learned how particles, when they hit water, will bend upward. We focused more about when light waves hit water. The waves get slower, and bends downward. When it leaves the water the light bends upward.
How do you know?
We looked at a ruler from different angles and from some angles the light was bent. When we learned about how particles change in water is that we used ideas we already know to make predictions. We did the same thing with waves.
Why is this important?
This is important because we are learning about light and we should know what it's made of. We see light being distorted in water all the time and it helps to know how it is distorted
